Hi Donna, Do you see your file in the File Import / Export page ?
Can anyone tell me why I now have duplicate recipes of my entire cookbook, and can anyone tell me how to get rid of all the duplicates?
All I did was backup my cookbook
Hi you have probably imported a previous backup and selected the option “Add all recipes and shopping lists from the file”
You can restore your previous database using the option “Delete database then import the file”
hi,
your app works really good. i have on win a program with now more than 1500 recipes (das kleine kochbuch 3.0). i have them exported as a .mcb file. they are imported by your app seamlessly.
there is only one issue:
mycookbook finds the .mcb file without any problem when stored on the intern sdcard. however the file. isn’t found when stored in my dropbox. i have to go to the dropbox app and upload the file manually to the sdcard.
any idea ?
and thx again for your fine app

Hi Wolfgang,
Have you put the file in the right directory on your dropbox account ? It should be Apps/My CookBook/ I think
Gentilissimi
Grazie

I have your app on the kindle fire hd. I love it so far but have issues importing my .txt files. I have dropbox and can see them there but after i tap the import option, nothing happens and i can not find the recipes anywhere. Can you help?
Hi Catherine,
We support imports from txt files only if they were generated by Master Meal , Mastercook, or Rezkonv softwares… Otherwise txt import won’t work. Maybe it is your issue?
I used the XML Recipe writer on this page and saved it to my SD card. When I go to import it into mycookbook, nothing happens. I followed the directions step by step and it’s not working. I want to be able to eventually add all my reciepes to this and then back them up on my computer. I only did one recipe right now to test it. How do you get the recipes on your SD card with /sdcard/MyCookBook????
The directory may change on some devices : it may be /sdcard/MyCookBook or /mnt/sdcard/MyCookBook or /storage/sdcard0/MyCookBook …
You can send us your xml file by email, we will try to import it and check if your file is fine
Any chance you could make a windows 8 app or base windows app that will read and write MCB files? Would be great to have a desktop app that we could synchronize with android via dropbox
Maybe one day… But first we are working on a online version of My CookBook
