Where is the COOKmate backup directory
You can find or modify the backup directory in the settings of the app.
The default backup directory is located on your emulated sdcard. Depending on the device it may be /sdcard/MyCookBook/ or /mnt/sdcard/MyCookBook or /storage/sdcard0/MyCookBook or…

OK so I have tried to copy my master cook files into the correct directory on my SD card. The files are there but the app does find them. They are .mxp and .mx2 files. Now what? I have a ton of recipes to import but am only trying with a few at a time first. Also master cook has them organized into books and will export as individual recipes or books. Will this import full books?
Are you sure your files are in the right directory ? The path depends on the device. It may be /sdcard/MyCookBook or /mnt/sdcard/MyCookBook or /storage/sdcard0/MyCookBook … I think you can import several recipes in one .mxp or .mx2 file
I have many recipes saved individually as .txt files as well as a large group of family recipes saved as a .txt file. When i try to import them , it says it’s importing the recipe but it will not show in my app. I am very tech savy and this is driving me nuts…please help!
Currently we import only txt files generated by Master Meal or Rezkonv softwares… We need that recipes are well formatted… We will try to improve our import engines in a future release
When I import a CookML (.cml) file, it seems that comments and instructions are not imported. The import of the same file into an other cooking app (e.g. recipePal) works fine. The file was created with “Kalorio”.
We will fix that bug for the next release
I’m trying to import my recipes into the categories. Please advise . Thank you
You have to edit your recipe and change the categories of your recipes
I had trouble importing any recipes that contained non-standard characters, such as “½” (single character), “¼”, “&”, “°”, or non-english characters such as “à”.
Once I removed all those characters from my file, it imported with no problems.
Is it a file you have created with My CookBook ? What type of file is it ? .xml ?
Okay i am trying migrate from my tablet to my new tablet the app installed no problem but no matter what i try the recipe files simpl wont import to thr new app
If you can’t import a file, you can send it to us by email (androidcookbook@gmail.com). We will have a look if everything is fine inside
We have also a issue when importing some files. Check if the directory sdcard/MyCookBook/images/ exists. If not, create it and retry to import your file.
This bug will be fixed in the next release
Thanksbyou for the info. Will be looking for future update
How do I delete old back up file. The setting was at daily, so I have a lot of backup file. I really only need the most current.
Hi have a couple recipes i cant transfer because it says cant identify the url. These are recipes i have of my own with no url. How can i do this? Thanks
How do you try to transfer your recipes ? Do you use a compatible file format ?
How do I delete extra back up file. I really only need the most resent file. Plus lately it doesn’t seem to be doing a backup automatically. Thanks for your help
Currently it is not possible to delete extra backup files with the My CookBook app. We will improve that in a future release. You have to use another application to delete files in the directory sdcard/MyCookBook.
Automatic backups are done when exiting the app (using the back button for example)
